It is early Sunday morning. Something happened last night while most of us were asleep. Everyone was talking about it this week and we reminded each other it was coming. Nonetheless I would bet a few did not hear and went about their day and were an hour early for church or work this morning. I would think a few knew and forgot about it as well.

I am talking about the time change .Last night we fell back and it is not the same time it was just 24 hours ago, The clock in my office is giving me incorrect information unaware the times have changed. Even if it does know what to do ,it cannot change like it needs to without my help. That will preach!

I read this morning two bible stories about time change. I often do this and have for years right about this time of year.

Five kings joined together to attack a city, called Gibeon, who made a treaty with Joshua. (Joshua Chapter 10)They sent word to Joshua and he and his army marched all night to come to their aid. Joshua and his men could fight well but still called upon God for help. God sent help in the form of hailstones and more of the enemy were killed by hail than the sword!

This whole time thing is very confusing. I have never been a fan and I am excited because this is the last time we will have to do this . This has been disputed and argued about and over for a long time. This goes a lot farther back than most realize.

Joshua prayed to God to let the sun stand still and the moon and the sun did not move for 24 hours. No wonder we are not really sure what time it is or is not. The lesson here that should move us to call upon the Lord to help us with

our battles. Why to we turn to other sources time and time again instead of the One who tells time what to do?

Wait there is more. A king named Hezekiah became sick and was told to get his house in order because he would soon die. ( 2 Kings Chapter 20)

He cried out to God and his prayed changed God's mind and he gave him 15 more years. He told the prophet Isaiah

what to do to heal him . The king wanted a sign. He was given a choice of the sun's shadow moving forward 10 steps or backwards 10 steps and he picked the latter. He voted to fall back and God did as he was asked . Go ahead , now try to set your watch.

What we should all do is to try to step up our faith. We should fall back on God's strength and his promises. These are uncertain times and it is time to get on our knees and cry out to him as a nation.

It's time to work on being more holy. It's time to change. It's time to choose Christ!

Three -hundred million years from now, the only thing that will matter is whether you're in Heaven or Hell.

Mark Cahill

Never before or since has there been a day like that one, when the Lord answered such a request from a human being.

Joshua 10:14

Failure isn't fatal, but failure to change might be.

John Wooden

Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life trying to save.

Will Rogers

The vision must be followed by venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps-we must step up the stairs.
